Galería serves as the headquarters of Innovaciones Alumbra, Rancho Cacachilas and Tenaja Holdings in downtown La Paz, Mexico. It also hosts two non-profit organizations, Abra Palabra and Mamá Gallina. Innovative and ecological designs create aesthetically pleasing indoor and outdoor spaces. Recycled concrete pieces from curbs adorn the walls and a parabolic dish antenna provides shade for an outdoor table. Local materials are used throughout, such as the ‘palo de arco’ wood * and palm leaves for roof shades, and selected colors reflect Mexico's joyous, traditional culture. The large patio includes an outdoor amphitheater and offers a unique setting for community events, movie nights and other social gatherings.

* The ‘palo de arco’ is a native bush that belongs to the Bignoniaceae or Trumpet Creeper family. Branches from this plant are traditionally used in construction, examples of which are shown in several of the images above, but most clearly in the roof shade in the 3rd photograph.
